The HAS Seminar

In 1997 Joan L Reiter, Co Founder, CEO, National Medical Research Foundation, designed the HAS seminar to teach children how to reach goals. Ms. Reiter contacted Ken Hutcherson* pastor of the Antioch Bible Church, Redmond, Washington, requesting he review the seminar and its application for children ages 9 through 12. He was enthusiastic about the on-going application of learned strategy and sponsored 20 children to attend the initial “lift-off” Speedy Auto Glass, Mercer Island, Washington, seminar.

Speedy Auto Glass management opened their executive suite boardroom to 20 “wide-eyed” children where the HAS seminar was held (one session per week for a month). Speedy Auto Glass also provided five managers to individually mentor HAS attendees for counseling how learned strategies could apply in reaching their goals for the rest of their lives: their work, their sports, their hobbies!

*Ken Hutcherson is a former American football linebacker in the National Football League, now pastor of the Antioch Bible Church, Redmond, Washington. He obtained his highest educational degree, a Bachelor’s in 1974 from Alabama’s University of West Alabama where he had also played football from 1972 to 1974. Hutcherson later joined the NFL but left in 1977 due to a knee injury. He played for the Dallas Cowboys, San Diego Charges and Seattle Seahawks. Often, radio audiences hear “Hutch” on Limbaugh’s radio program “shooting the breeze!”
